Virtual fertility therapy and surrogacy expertise

For all the messy parts of family building that no one tells you about.

Nice to meet you

We’re here to reduce barriers, and help make family-building sustainable and accessible for everyone.

We believe

Families come in all shapes and sizes.

1

We support all identities, orientations, and family structures, including LGBTQ+ couples and solo parents.

Mental health matters

2

Mental wellness is not a nice-to-have. It is the foundation that supports this journey and your life beyond it.

Surrogacy should be better understood.

3

When done intentionally and ethically, surrogacy is a valid, meaningful way to build a family and it deserves to be treated that way.

About the founder

Ariel Taylor

Ariel is a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist.

After more than a decade navigating her own fertility journey as a five time surrogate and six time egg donor, Ariel became deeply aware of how limited and outcome-focused support can be in these spaces with little attention given to the emotional impact of the process and the long-term wellbeing of those involved.

Carried With Love was founded in response to that gap. The organization provides therapy, education, and advocacy for individuals, Intended Parents, and surrogates, with an emphasis on ethical care, thoughtful decision-making, and life beyond the journey itself.

Alongside her clinical work, Ariel develops education and speaks publicly on infertility, reproductive trauma, surrogacy, and donor conception. Her goal is to improve understanding, reduce harm, and support more compassionate, informed approaches to reproductive and mental health care in Canada and beyond.

How Carried With Love was born…

2015

After completing her own family, Ariel became a surrogate for the first time.

She loved her own pregnancy and saw surrogacy as a way to help other people bring their babies home.

Unfortunately, Ariel’s first surrogacy journey ended in a devastating and unexpected loss. When she was looking for support, she quickly realized that counselling for surrogacy just didn’t exist.

She didn’t know it at the time, but this loss was the beginning of what would become Carried With Love, named in dedication to her first surrogate baby.

Thankfully, her surrogacy story didn’t end there. During her second journey, Ariel discovered how passionate she was about the world of surrogacy. She began learning everything she possibly could about infertility and non-traditional paths to parenthood.

2018

Ariel went back to school for her degree in Social Work.

She focussed a lot of her research and writing on infertility trauma, surrogacy and donor outcomes, and the mental health impact of infertility.

2019

She started sharing and educating about surrogacy on Instagram, and quickly gained a large following and media attention.

2021

Ariel graduated with honours, and began her virtual therapy practice, Carried With Love.

Ariel started as a solo practice, specializing in fertility trauma, miscarriage and loss, postpartum depression, and of course, surrogacy and donor conception.

There was such a need that she quickly transitioned to a group practice to be able to help more people.

After 3 transfers during university, surrogate baby #4, “Baby J” (Baby R’s brother!) was born in 2021, just days after Ariel’s final exam!

2022

As Ariel worked with Intended Parents in therapy, their shared challenges inspired a new project.

She discovered that too many IPs were fumbling their way through surrogacy and it was causing expensive mistakes, traumatizing experiences and difficult journeys.

This new project aimed to be a more sustainable way for Intended Parents to complete their surrogacy journey successfully.

2023

Carried With Love launched Canada’s first independent surrogacy program.
